It all started with the initiative and enthusiasm of a young artisan by the name of Angelo Schiavon who, in 1944 at the age of thirteen, began his apprenticeship with silversmiths and artisans specialized in copper hammering. Such was his passion for silversmithing as to decide to dedicate himself totally to the creation of objects made of silver.

Angelo Schiavon was endowed with an eclectic, creative personality, very determined and strong-willed – his work colleagues had to admit they never managed to finish a job neither before nor better than he did – and therefore in 1957 he decided to set up his own silversmith’s workshop in a small storeroom located in the town of Treviso, not far from Venice.

With his creative flair and artisan skills he was able to fashion objects that became increasingly successful despite the fact they were initially sold exclusively to specialized antiquarian dealers and local retailers.

By 1964 all the Schiavon production was destined to the finest Italian silverware manufacturers of the time. Then in 1970 the distribution was entrusted to leading wholesalers.

In 1975 Schiavon took a decisive step and decided to reserve, from then onwards, all its production exclusively to qualified retailers, guaranteeing a strictly selective distribution of its products to upscale shops in Italy and abroad.

At present, the plant covers an area of 10.000 square metres over a land measuring 20.000 square metres. The entire Schiavon production is created inside the plant thanks to the great number of highly specialized employees who continue to guarantee a typically artisan approach and expertise, which is in fact the authentic strength behind the Schiavon brand name.

Angelo Schiavon's son and daughter now work alongside him in the company management, justly proud of the achievements of the past and increasingly focused on new challenges for the future.
